Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THE FIRST CONTACT WITH MAS?
Before the day of your procedure, one of our nurses will call you for a phone consultation. We will begin with a discussion about your medical and surgical history and any concerns you may have about your health and well-being. We will discuss your journey with us on the day of your procedure so that you feel comfortable and familiar on the day. Together we will develop a treatment plan that best suits you. You'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and if you remember something later, don't worry, just give us a call and we'll answer any questions you may have.
I'M SCARED OF DENTISTRY ...
Many people experience a degree of fear associated with visiting the dentist. To avoid these concerns before your procedure:
Share your concerns and fears with us so we can tailor a treatment to suit your needs.
Focus on regular and slow breathing. When you're nervous, you tend to hold your breath, reducing your oxygen supply, which can increase feelings of panic.
Rest assured, we have a great deal of experience in dealing with these feelings. Our sole focus is that you feel safe, secure and comfortable throughout your journey.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS / COMPLICATIONS WITH GA?
The type of general anesthesia you will have on the day of the procedure is very safe. It moves very quickly and runs out very quickly. After surgery, we ensure you have antinausea and vomiting medications and ensure you wake up with plenty of analgesia on board. In our telephone consultations, we will ask all relevant questions to ensure that your health condition meets our criteria to ensure a safe journey on the day of the procedure. It is important that you answer all our questions honestly and follow the instructions.
Some temporary side effects include:
• a cold feeling in your arm while falling asleep
• a feeling of dizziness and vertigo
